Intensive Russian Assaults Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The strikes come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
